The Cowboys Ladder Prices Ten Wins as a Coin Flip Because the Offence Is Proven and the Defence Is Not
The Dallas Cowboys win total is priced as a coin flip at ten wins because the market believes the offence and has not decided about the defence. Kalshi's ladder sets its centre rung three wins above the 7-9-1 the Cowboys posted in 2025, and the price rests on two numbers from that season that pull in opposite directions: 471 points scored, which was the profile of a contender, and 511 allowed, which was the profile of a club that missed the playoffs. A 1-1 start, a loss in East Rutherford, New Jersey and a 37-20 win in Arlington, has not settled the argument. The Cowboys play their home games at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and Kalshi is the only exchange pricing this ladder, so every rung on the board is one book's view.
The Cowboys win total ladder, rung by rung
A win total on Kalshi is a ladder of separate contracts rather than a single line. The Dallas ladder runs from two wins to sixteen, fifteen rungs in all, and each one is a Yes-or-No contract that pays Yes if the Cowboys win at least that many regular-season games. In the language of a win total the ten-win rung is the over on nine and a half: it pays on ten wins or more and pays nothing on nine. The board above prints each rung by its threshold, and the prices step down as the threshold climbs.
As of September 23, 2026, the ladder priced at least eight wins at 73%, nine at 61%, ten at 45%, eleven at 32%, twelve at 22% and thirteen at 15%, with the two-win rung at 100%. The steps are close to even in size, ten to sixteen points between neighbouring rungs from eight through twelve, which means the market is not concentrated on one outcome the way a ladder with a single large step would be. It is spread across nine, ten and eleven wins, and the coin flip at ten is the centre of a wide distribution rather than a confident median. That spread is the honest reading of a club with a proven offence and an unproven defence.
What 2025 left the Cowboys win total to stand on
Dallas finished 2025 at 7-9-1, twelfth in the NFC's seeded order and second in the NFC East behind Philadelphia's 11-6. The 471 points scored were the most of any club in the division by a wide margin; the 511 allowed were the most in the division too, and the minus 40 differential is what turned a top-tier offence into a losing record. The Cowboys went 4-2 inside the division, which is the best division mark of any NFC East club last year and the reason the four games against Washington and the Giants matter so much to a ten-win ladder.
The first two weeks of 2026 repeated the pattern in miniature. Dallas lost 28-20 at the Giants on September 13, 2026, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, then beat Washington 37-20 in Arlington on September 20, 2026, for 57 points scored and 48 allowed. A club that scores 37 in a home game and allows 28 to a team that went 4-13 the year before is the same club the ladder is describing.
The Cowboys win total schedule from here
Fifteen games remain: seven at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, seven on the road and one at a neutral site. The neutral game comes first, on September 27, 2026, against Baltimore at the Maracanã in Rio de Janeiro, with Dallas listed as the home club. Then the only game of the year between the two Texas clubs, at Houston on October 4, followed by Tampa Bay in Arlington on Thursday, October 8, and a night game at Green Bay on October 18. The first Philadelphia game is on Monday, October 26, in Philadelphia; Arizona visits on November 1, Dallas travels to Indianapolis on November 8, and San Francisco and Tennessee come to Arlington on November 15 and November 22. Philadelphia returns on Thanksgiving, November 26, and the Cowboys close the pre-bye stretch at Seattle on Monday, December 7.
The bye falls in Week 14, on December 13, and it is late enough to be a checkpoint. After it: the Rams in Inglewood on December 20, Jacksonville in Arlington on the night of December 27, the Giants at home on January 3, 2027, and Washington in Landover, Maryland in Week 18 on the weekend of January 9 and 10, 2027. The seventeen opponents went a combined 142-146-1 in 2025, and eight of the remaining fifteen games are against clubs that reached last season's playoffs: Houston, Green Bay, Philadelphia twice, San Francisco, Seattle, the Rams and Jacksonville. Two of those, Seattle and the Rams, the NFC West's 14-3 champion and one of its 12-5 clubs, come on the road in December; San Francisco, the other 12-5 club, visits Arlington on November 15.
After two weeks the NFC East stood at Philadelphia 2-0, the Giants and Dallas 1-1 and Washington 0-2, and the Cowboys' 1-1 inside the division includes the loss that hands the Giants the first tiebreaker between the two until the January 3 rematch.
The case against the Cowboys win total read
The strongest case against the read is that a ten-win centre for a club that just went 7-9-1 requires the defence to improve by roughly three wins' worth, and the early evidence is 48 points allowed in two games, including 28 to a club that scored 381 all of last season. If the defence is what it was, the offence's ceiling is what it was too: 471 points bought seven wins in 2025, and a ladder that prices ten as a coin flip is asking the same offence to buy three more with the same help. On that view the eight-win rung, 73% on September 23, 2026, is the price that is right and the ten-win rung is the one that is too high.
The second leg of the case against is the calendar, which is harder than last year's by the measure that matters. Eight games against 2025 playoff clubs, with the Seahawks, Rams and Packers all away from Arlington, is a schedule on which a club with a bad defence loses close games it would win at home. A 6-7 record at the December 13 bye would leave ten wins needing a 4-0 finish, and the ladder's spread across nine, ten and eleven would collapse toward eight in a week.
What changes the Cowboys win total read
The read is wrong if the defence does not improve and the schedule collects on it, and the dates that would show that are fixed.
• September 27, 2026: Baltimore in Rio de Janeiro, a 2025 non-playoff club at a neutral site. A loss to 1-2 is not decisive, but a third straight game allowing more than 24 points would be the first sign the 511 has not gone away.
• October 4, 2026: at Houston, the one Texas-against-Texas game of the season and the first of eight games against 2025 playoff clubs.
• October 26 and November 26, 2026: the two Philadelphia games. A sweep by the Eagles closes the division route and leaves the ladder resting entirely on the wild-card arithmetic.
• December 13, 2026, the bye: the checkpoint, with thirteen games played. At 8-5 the ten-win rung needs a 2-2 finish against the Rams, Jacksonville, the Giants and Washington, and the read holds; at 6-7 it needs 4-0 and the read is dead.
• January 3, 2027: the Giants in Arlington, the game that squares the division tiebreaker the September 13 loss gave away.
When the Cowboys win total market resolves
Each rung resolves on the Cowboys' regular-season win count once the NFL's Week 18 is complete on the weekend of January 9 and 10, 2027. The contract counts wins, so a tie is not a win for any rung, which matters for a club that tied a game in 2025, and postseason games do not count. The contract text carried on the board follows one form for every rung, "If the Dallas Pro Football team wins at least [N] games in the 2026-27 regular season, then the market resolves to Yes", and the board lists January 18, 2027 as the resolution date, eight days after the final regular-season game in Landover.
