The Central Division picture

The Stars closed 2025-26 at 50-20-12 for 112 points, second in the Central Division behind Colorado's 55-16-11 and 121, and second in the Western Conference playoff seeding on ESPN's final table. The gap to third was wider than the gap to first: Minnesota finished at 104 points, Utah at 92, and the other four Central clubs, St. Louis, Nashville, Winnipeg and Chicago, all missed the playoffs at 86 points or fewer. Dallas ended the regular season on a five-game winning streak with a goal differential of plus 53.

That table resets on October 2, 2026. Twenty-eight of the 84 regular-season dates are against Central Division clubs, Colorado four times: home and home on October 13 and 14, then January 22 in Dallas and January 24 in Denver.

Where the Dallas Stars play

American Airlines Center is in Dallas, in the Victory Park district, and opened on July 17, 2001; Wikidata records a capacity of 19,200. Forty-one of the club's 42 home dates in 2026-27 are there. The exception is Saturday, February 20, 2027, when the Vegas Golden Knights visit and the game is listed at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, the football stadium the Cowboys use. The preseason is at the arena as well: Dallas was 2-0-0 in exhibition play as of September 23, 2026, with 2-1 wins over St. Louis on September 19 and 21, and hosts Minnesota on September 23 before closing the preseason in Saint Paul on September 25.

The 2026-27 schedule

The regular season opens at home against St. Louis on Friday, October 2, 2026 at 8:00 PM Central, with Nashville the next night on the road and San Jose in Dallas on October 5. October is the heaviest home month, nine of 13 games at the arena, including Boston on the 20th, Winnipeg on the 22nd, the New York Islanders on the 25th and New Jersey on the 27th. January tilts the other way, ten road dates against six at home, with a five-game eastern trip from January 14 to 20 through Boston, the Islanders, the Rangers, New Jersey and Chicago. February carries seven home dates and only three away, among them the Arlington game against Vegas on the 20th. A four-game western swing runs from March 13 to 20 through Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Calgary and Edmonton. The last home date is Utah on April 9, 2027, and the season ends at Nashville on April 10.
